1982, K R Industries, Inc. purchased Triangle Bowling. At the time,
KR Industries was heavily involved in the manufacturing of
Stadium Seats and Boat Seats. Company Founder, Stuart Wolkoff, an avid
bowler, wanted to buy Triangle more for the love of the game than for the
business investment. “I thought my average would go over 200 if I was in the bowling business” Stuart said at the time. Boy, was he wrong. In 1986, Mike Stout, a top Amateur/Collegiate Bowler joined the company and KR Strikeforce was born. While Mike was in College (the best six years of bowling in his life), he decided he was going to make bowling his life long profession. KR Industries, the company, grew in various sporting goods industries’. It was decided that for “The Bowling Bag Company” to go to the next level, everyone would have to focus on Bowling Bags. Throughout 2000-2001, a mass re-structuring resulted in Strikeforce Bowling L.L.C. purchasing the bowling division of KR Industries, Inc. Partners Brad Handelman, Mike Stout, and Stuart Wolkoff led the buyout. THE BOWLING BAG BUSINESS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. Renewed focus on Sales and Marketing, and Innovation along with operations never running better, there really is no reason to purchase another brand of bags. We are more dedicated than ever to serving our customers and ultimately and more importantly, the Bowler. “Downsizing from 250 employees to 20 created an opportunity for us to keep the best. The “Strikeforce” team is well versed in all facets of the business, and ready to help out everywhere and anywhere.” Says Brad Handelman whose responsibility was the re-structuring. Our competitors don’t think we make every brand for nothing. |
